Cops: Holy Trinity School Buses Collide with Car, 17 Injured

Two buses and a car collided in East Meadow.

More than a dozen Holy Trinity High School students were injured after their school buses collided with a car Monday afternoon, confirmed Nassau County Police.

Cops said the two buses were heading south on Newbridge Road just south of Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow when they collided with another car.

The accident happened at 2:47 p.m. Monday.

Seventeen people on the two buses and in the car were brought to a hospital for evaluation, though none suffered any serious injuries, police said.

Officials from East Meadow, Hicksville, Wantagh, Bellmore, Levittown, and North Merrick fire departments rushed to the scene and helped police transport students to the hospital.

A man, his wife, and a three-year-old child were in the car that collided with the buses, East Meadow Fire Department's E.J. Brennan told Newsday. All three were rushed to Winthrop University Hospital, the report says.

CJR21...'cs' is just another malcontent who hasn't had any luck in life and blames the world for ghis being left behind...Few, if any, freinds, below average looks, lousy job, no interest from opposite sex - kinda sounds like the loser from Santa Barbara...

And what does Catholic School have to with it? This story could have been about public school buses instead. Has anyone seen the way those drivers drive? Really no difference. And for CS: Taking kids to school in a limo. How about the high school taxes with the public school rip-offs? Don't the public school kids deserve a limo as well?

Ralph, I don't think that you understand the issue here. Limos would not be practical to take students to school. You would need too many of them. Buses can accommodate a lot of kids at once, which is why we use them. Check your facts before you post.
