Cops Searching for Man Who Assaulted NICE Bus Driver

Nassau County Police are searching for a man they say assaulted a NICE Bus driver who refused to make an unauthorized stop.

Cops released a sketch of the subject who they said was on the eastbound N6 bus when he got angry at the driver. The man struck the driver several times when he refused to pull over, cops said. The man got off the bus and fled on foot west on Hempstead Turnpike.

The incident happened at 6:30 p.m. March 23, police said.

The N6 bus travels east from Nassau Community College in East Garden City to Jamaica via Hempstead Turnpike and stops in Hempstead, West Hempstead, Franklin Square, Elmont, and City Line.

Detectives are asking anyone who has information about the incident to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
