Crime Blotter: Man Hit by Eastbound Train at Merillon Station
The Garden City Park 22-year-old was struck by a train traveling eastbound and was deceased upon the arrival of officers.
The following arrest information was supplied by the Garden City Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Nov. 11: At 6:18 a.m., Garden City police officers responded to the Merillon Avenue train station where a male 22-year-old from Garden City Park was struck by a train traveling eastbound. The victim was deceased upon the arrival of officers. The investigation is continuing by the MTA and Garden City Police Departments.
Nov. 14: Police Aide Alilionis issued an appearance ticket to an Amityville business for dumping construction debris in a handicap parking space on Kellum Place.
Nov. 15: At 4 p.m., Officer Touhy received a call for an intoxicated driver in the vicinity of Ninth Street. Upon checking the area, he located the subject, a male 48-year-old from Williston Park, operating his vehicle in Parking Field 9E. Upon an investigation, the subject was arrested for DWI (refused test).
Nov. 16: Someone opened an unauthorized account for three cell phones in a resident’s name.
Nov. 16: The department is investigating a report of $10,000 in unauthorized charges against a resident’s credit account.
Nov. 16: The department is investigating the theft of an iPad from the Adelphi Library.
Nov. 16: Officers were assigned to a railroad gate malfunction on Franklin Avenue which resulted in heavy vehicular congestion in the area.
Nov. 18: A pocketbook was accidentally left at a Franklin Avenue bus stop as the victim boarded a bus. When she returned to the scene she found the pocketbook in a nearby trash container with various items such as personal papers and jewelry missing.
Nov. 18: Officers responded to a traffic light malfunction on Stewart Avenue at Washington Avenue.
Nov. 18: Offices responded to a domestic incident which resulted in the arrest of a A male 39-year-old from Garden City for assault and criminal mischief. The subject reportedly choked the victim and also prevented the victim from calling the police.
Nov. 19: A rear bumper to a vehicle was damaged while parked in Parking Field 6E.
