The following arrest information was supplied by the Garden City Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Aug. 12: The department is investigating the unauthorized withdrawals from a resident’s ATM account.
Aug. 15: Police personnel along with fire and public works personnel, responded to numerous incidents due to a sudden tropical storm that resulted in serious flooding conditions, power outages, stranded vehicles and vehicle occupants, alarms, tree limbs down and an auto accident.
Aug. 15: At 3:22 a.m., Officer Dallolio was on patrol when he observed a vehicle traveling northbound in the southbound lanes on Nassau Boulevard, a divided roadway. He stopped the vehicle and upon his investigation, the driver, a male 18-year-old from North Babylon, was arrested and charged with DWI (.11 percent blood alcohol content) and unsafe lane usage.
Aug. 15: The department is investigating an accident in Parking Field 6E where it was reported that a vehicle backed into an occupied parked vehicle and then left the scene without exchanging information. The occupant of the parked vehicle received a neck injury.
Aug. 18: Sergeant Hickey stopped a vehicle for passing a steady red traffic light on Merillon Avenue at Nassau Boulevard. Upon an investigation, the driver, a male 58-year-old from Elmont, was arrested for DWI (.15 percent blood alcohol content), passing a red light and failure to maintain lane of travel.
Aug. 18: Officers responded to a traffic light outage on Franklin Avenue and Old Country Road.
Aug. 19: Officer Oswald stopped a vehicle on Washington Ave. for unsafe lane violations and for driving over the center lane markings. The driver, a male 27-year-old from Maryland, was subsequently arrested forr DWI (.17 percent blood alcohol content) and three unsafe lane violations.
Aug. 19: Officer Punch stopped a vehicle for defective brake lights on Ninth St. Upon an investigation, the driver, a male 17-year-old from Elmont, was charged with driving with switched license plates, defective brake lights, unregistered vehicle, uninsured operation and uninspected vehicle. The vehicle was also impounded.
Aug. 22: Numerous sets of tires and rims were stolen from new vehicles stored in the Nissan storage facility on Stewart Ave. Estimated loss: $78,000.
