Crime Blotter: Attempted Murder, Illegal Massage and Lord & Taylor Busts
Garden City police bust up an illegal massage parlor on Franklin Avenue, charge a Pine Street resident with attempted murder and more.
The following arrest information was supplied by the Garden City Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Jan. 16: As a result of a domestic incident investigation, a female 51-year-old was arrested for criminal mischief after entering another family member’s residence without permission.
Jan. 16: A female 29-year-old and female 31-year-old, both from Queens, were arrested for larceny for the theft of more than $1,500 in merchandise from Lord & Taylor. In addition, the female 31-year-old was charged for a similar theft on Jan. 15 at the Lord & Taylor in Manhasset.
Jan. 17: A joint investigation by the Garden City and Nassau County Police Departments resulted in the arrested of a female 21-year-old from the Bronx and a female 23-year-old from Queens, for the operation of an illegal massage parlor in an office building on Franklin Avenue.
Jan. 19: Officer Oswald arrested a female 28-year-old from North Babylon for DWI (.17 percent blood alcohol content) after observing the vehicle driving northbound on Franklin Avenue in the southbound lanes and for tailgating a truck. In addition to DWI, she was charged with driving on the wrong side of the road, following a vehicle too closely, unsafe lane violation and uninsured operation.
Jan. 19: Officer Caputo arrested a female 53-year-old from Great Neck for the theft of $596 in assorted clothing from Lord & Taylor.
Jan. 19: Officer Wedra arrested a male 42-year-old from Glen Cove for criminal mischief. The subject had punctured the tire to a village vehicle that was parked on the east side of Village Hall.
Jan. 20: The Garden City Police Department and the Nassau County Third Squad detectives report the arrest of a Garden City woman for an attempted murder that occurred on Jan. 20 at 6:07 pm in Garden City. Read full story here.
Jan. 20: A tire to a vehicle parked in a Monroe Street driveway was found slashed.
Jan. 21: A female 45-year-old from Garden City was arrested for criminal contempt after violating a Family Court order of protection stipulation to stay away from other family members if under the influence of alcohol.
Jan. 22: Three vehicles were entered on Osborne Road and John Street. Proceeds included a laptop computer, personal items and a XBOX 360.
Jan. 22: Officer Buonaiuto observed a vehicle traveling northbound Rockaway Avenue at 50 mph in a 30 mph zone. The operator was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation due to three open driver's license suspensions as well as for speeding, unlicensed operation and uninsured operation.
Jan. 22: Garden City detectives arrested a female 23-year-old from Baldwin for grand larceny and identity theft after she bought more than $3,000 in merchandise, including two televisions and three gift cards, at Sears using the account of another person without authorization. The subject was also charged with a violation of probation warrant.
