The following arrest information was supplied by the Garden City police department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Aug. 17: Three vehicles parked in a Brixton Road driveway were found to have numerous scratches on them.
Aug. 17: Two bicycles valued at $650 were reported stolen from an unlocked Cedar Place garage.
Aug. 17: A GPS was removed from an unlocked vehicle parked on Cedar Place.
Aug. 18: A rear window to a vehicle parked in a Claydon Road driveway was broken and an Apple laptop valued at $1,500 was stolen from within.
Aug. 19: A GPS unit valued at $400 was removed from an unlocked vehicle and an iPod valued at $300 was removed from another unlocked vehicle. Both vehicles were parked at a Second Street residence.
Aug. 19: A rear window to a vehicle parked at an Osborne Road residence was smashed and a GPS valued at $200 was removed. The damage to the vehicle is approximately $200.
Aug. 20: Garden City detectives were notified of a subject, a female 22-year-old from Uniondale, in Lord & Taylor who apparently used counterfeit money recently at a Lord & Taylor store in New Jersey. Upon their investigation, the subject was found to be possession of two counterfeit $100 bills with the intent to use them. She was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument.
Aug. 20: At approximately 11:42 p.m. Garden City officers responded to Community Park for a report of youths in the park after closing hours causing a disturbance. Upon arrival, the officers observed three subjects attempting to run away from them. The subjects, a male 20-year-old from West Hempstead, a male 18-year-old from Garden City South and a male 18-year-old from Franklin Square, were caught and issued appearance tickets for trespass.
Aug. 20: At approximately 6:15 p.m. a tactical officer observed a vehicle southbound on Clinton Road from Old Country Road driving recklessly with other vehicles present and pedestrians walking in the vicinity. The vehicle then turned onto Flower Road and continued to drive recklessly on the side streets in that vicinity until he was stopped by the officer. The subject, a male 49-year-old from Garden City, was issued tickets for reckless driving, speeding, turn violations, uninspected operation and uninsured operation.
Aug. 20: Garden City officers arrested a male 46-year-old from Huntington for the theft of two pairs of Ray Ban sunglasses, two Michael Kors watches as well as other miscellaneous items from the men’s sportswear department at Lord & Taylor's. Total value of the items was $958. The subject was also charged with criminal impersonation after he tried to identify himself as someone else and possession of burglar tools for using a tool to remove security sensors from the stolen merchandise.
Aug. 20: A male 17-year-old from West Hempstead was issued an appearance ticket for possessing alcohol (bottle of Vodka) in Community Park.
Aug. 21: A Huntington Road resident reports a criminal mischief after she discovered that an unknown liquid was poured on two vehicles parked in her driveway causing approximately $4,000 in damage.
Aug. 21: Sometime during the overnight hours, a designer tote bag, a designer wallet and a laptop computer (total value: $1,500) were removed from a house on Second Street. It is unknown how the subjects entered the residence. The residents were in the house when the thefts occurred.
Aug. 22: During severe storm conditions in the evening and night hours, the department responded to numerous calls for assistance including flooding, alarms, disabled autos, stranded motorists, a person stuck in an elevator, traffic light malfunctions, power outages and tree limbs down.
Aug. 22: Detectives are investigating an incident where a Garden City Plaza business reports $4,000 in fraudulent online purchases made against one of their company accounts.
Aug. 22: Numerous scratches were discovered on a vehicle parked in Parking Field 9E.
