Crime Blotter: Garden City Man Arrested For Euston Road Burglary

The Euston Road resident reported jewelry missing from her residence on Dec. 11, police said.

The following arrest information was supplied by the Garden City Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Dec. 18: A student reports leaving a cell phone in a restroom at Adelphi University by accident and when she returned the phone was missing.

Dec. 18: Officers assisted the fire department with a vehicle fire on Cherry Valley Avenue.

Dec. 18: During the overnight hours, a home was entered on the first floor of a Prospect Avenue residence through a window with a faulty lock. Handbags and electronic equipment were removed from a den. The residents were asleep on the second floor during the incident. There were reports during the night of three teenagers running through yards in the area. The subjects were described as African American males wearing bubble jackets, backpacks and carrying duffel bags.

Dec. 18: A Locust Street resident reports the theft of bottled beverages from his vehicle.

Dec. 19: Someone cashed a forged check in a resident’s name in the amount of $5,000.

Dec. 19: Officer Roumeliotis stopped a vehicle on Clinton Road for an expired inspection sticker. The driver, a 49-year-old man from Hempstead, was subsequently arrested for driving with eight driver's license suspensions, unlicensed operation and uninspected auto.

Dec. 19: A 46-year-old woman from Stewart Manor was arrested by Garden City detectives for contacting a Garden City resident by phone in violation of a Nassau County Criminal Court Stay Away Order. The subject was previously arrested on Dec. 16 for aggravated harassment towards the victim.

Dec. 19: Officers responded to the Nissan vehicle storage facility on Stewart Avenue where it was reported that three subjects stole a vehicle. The vehicle was stopped in the vicinity of the yard, and the subjects attempted to flee the area on foot. One of the subjects, a 17-year-old from Hempstead, was apprehended at the scene. A second subject, another 17-year-old from Hempstead, was arrested by Garden City detectives on Dec. 20. Both subjects were charged with grand larceny and possession of stolen property.

Dec. 20: Based on a joint investigation by Garden City and Nassau County Police, Nassau detectives arrested a 22-year-old man from Garden City and a 19-year-old from Elmont for a burglary that occurred on Dec. 11 at a Euston Road residence. The Euston Road resident reported jewelry missing from her residence. The house was found locked with no signs of forced entry.

Dec. 21: Two female victims state that their wallets were stolen from their purses while shopping at Talbots.

Dec. 22: As a result of a suspicious person investigation at Lord & Taylor, Officer Russell arrested a 32-year-old woman from Queens for an active probation warrant and an active petit larceny warrant.
