Crime Blotter: School Windows Damaged, Identity Theft and a Pot Bust

A look at this week's alleged crimes, reported by the Garden City Police Department.

The following arrest information was supplied by the Garden City Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Feb. 23: A resident reports that an unknown person added three phones to his account without authorization.

Feb. 25: A light post on the front lawn to a Chestnut Street residence was found damaged.

Feb. 25: Three windows to Homestead School were found damaged.

Feb. 27: An iPod was reported stolen from a gym locker at Adelphi University.

Feb. 28: An unknown vehicle left the scene after striking and damaging a parked vehicle in Nassau County Parking Field 7.

Feb. 28: Damage consisting of a broken window and a broken door handle were found on a parked vehicle on Ring Road.

Feb. 28: The department is investigating an incident at 200 Garden City Plaza where an unknown person assumed the identity of a worker at that location to buy medications.

March 1: A handbag containing a wallet, credit cards, $90 and a cell phone were reported stolen from a restaurant on Franklin Avenue.

March 1: Several vehicles were entered on Euston Road and Salisbury Avenue during the overnight hours. Property stolen included a GPS, loose change and various clothing items.

March 1: An iPad was reported to be stolen from a room at Adelphi University.

March 1: Officer Milito arrested a male 23-year-old from Levittown on Old Country Road for an outstanding disorderly conduct warrant from Southampton, speeding, having a suspended license, and having a suspended registration, and uninsured operation.

March 2: A male 52-year-old from Uniondale was arrested by Garden City detectives for unauthorized use of an auto after taking and driving an acquaintance’s auto without permission from her Garden City address.

March 3: After a lengthy investigation, Garden City detectives arrested a male 38-year-old from Uniondale for a Dec. 28 theft from a parked vehicle on Maxwell Road and the subsequent unauthorized use of credit cards taken from the vehicle. He was charged with two counts of criminal possession of stolen property and two counts of identity theft.

March 3: Officer Byrd cited a male 24-year-old from Queens for speeding on Old Country Road (54 MPH in a 30 MPH Zone) and aggravated unlicensed operation for having a driver license suspension.

March 4: A joint investigation between GCPD detectives and NCPD Narcotics detectives resulted in the arrest of a male 21-year-old and female 19-year-old, both from Elmont, for the sale of one ounce of alleged marijuana. Both subjects were charged with criminal sale of marijuana.

March 4: Detectives are investigating an identity theft complaint where a college refund check was directed to an unauthorized account.

March 4: An iPhone charger and loose change was removed from a parked vehicle on Fifth Street.

March 5: As a result of a traffic stop investigation on Stewart Avenue, Garden City detectives arrested a male 22-year-old from Elmont for not wearing a seatbelt and possession of marijuana.
