Nassau County Police arrested a Greenvale doctor on drug and prescription forgery charges Monday after finding a horde of pills and prescription sheets in his parked car.
Dr. Edmond Hakimi, 32, is charged with three counts of second-degree forgery and seven counts seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after a search of his 2013 Jeep yielded a number of pills. Read the full story here.

A group of eight men on Friday beat a 47-year-old man and stole his phone and work bag in Inwood, police said.
On Aug. 30 at 10:27 p.m., the male victim was walking on Monroe Street when he two unknown male black subjects approached him. One subject, who was wearing a white shirt, asked for the time. A 34-year-old man was arrested for his role in an assault at the Bellmore Long Island Rail Road Station that led to the death of a 49-year-old Freeport man, LIRR officials said.
