Police: Man Sold Pot on 7th Street with Son in Tow

A New Hyde Park man was busted for selling marijuana on Seventh Street with his child in tow, Garden City police said.

Tony Vera, 30, was arrested Jan. 1 by detectives after he sold the drug to an undercover officer, police said. The man's six-year-old son was present during the time of the sale, according to the police report.

Oh Boy: Cops Nab Flavor Flav on Long Island for Driving with 16 Suspensions: 

Flavor Flav was busted Thursday morning on his native Long Island, but even the "911 Is a Joke" rapper must have been thankful troopers let him go to his mother's funeral.

William Drayton, Public Enemy's hype man, was stopped when New York State Police said they saw him speeding in a Hyundai on the southbound side of the Meadowbrook State Parkway, near the Southern State Parkway, in Hempstead at about 9:30 a.m. They reported clocking him going 79 mph in a 55 mph zone.

An East Rockaway man pleaded guilty Monday to charges that he scammed multiple people, including an elderly Woodmere woman, by promising to repair their driveways, said the Nassau County District Attorney’s office.

Robert Cohan, 27, of East Rockaway, faces up to four years in prison after pleading guilty to three counts of second-degree larceny, two counts of third-degree grand larceny, two counts of fourth-degree grand larceny, and one count of fifth-degree tax fraud.

A Long Beach man was arrested in Island Park Thursday after he was allegedly spotted trying to sell gas hoses and a sign from a gas station he no longer owned. 

According to police, at 2:40 p.m., officers responded to a disturbance at U.S. Petroleum on Long Beach Road. Police said Mahmut Unver, 41, was selling gas hoses and a sign from the station he no longer owned. He was arrested without incident.

Unauthorized Practice Arrests Made in West Hempstead

Two Queens Women were arrested Thursday afternoon for allegedly performing illegal massages in West Hempstead.

According to police, at 3:45 p.m., an undercover detective entered suite 203 at 357 Hempstead Turnpike and received an unlicensed massage from Yan Kuang, 43 for money.

UPDATE: Woman on Drugs Arrested After Fleeing Accident in Hempstead

A Hicksville woman on drugs was arrested Thursday afternoon after she collided with another vehicle in Hempstead and continued northbound on Franklin Avenue into Garden City, Nassau County police said.

Janine Lafiandra, 36, was operating a 2013 Mercedes Benz northbound on Main Street in Hempstead when she collided with a 2004 Ford operated by a 66-year-old man heading southbound on Main Street at West Columbia Street, according to police.

Cops: TD Bank Robbed Again

Nassau County Police are searching for a man they say robbed a Rockville Centre bank days after it was robbed by another man.

The Robbery Squad said a man entered TD Bank on Merrick Road at 1:57 p.m. Monday and presented a demand note to the teller. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the man fled and was seen heading south through the bank parking lot, cops said.

Cops: 2 Charges in Shellbank Place Robbery

Two people, one a teenager, face charges in connection to a robbery last month on Rockville Centre, Nassau County Police announced.

Thomas Scanlan, 17, of East Rockaway, and Christopher Pilato, 25, of Oceanside, were each charged with two counts of robbery after police said they robbed a 22-year-old they reportedly knew.

TD Bank Robbed Monday Afternoon

TD Bank in Garden City was robbed Monday afternoon, Nassau County Robbery Squad detectives said. The incident happened around 3:37 p.m.

According to detectives, the subject, described as a black man 55-60 years of age, 5'10" tall wearing a Toronto Blue Jays baseball cap, dark hooded jacket, scarf and jeans, entered TD Bank located at 855 Franklin Avenue and presented a demand note to a teller.

Man Approached, Held at Knifepoint on Fourth Street

A man leaving a relative's house on Fourth Street was approached by two men, one with a knife who demanded money, Garden City police said.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:35 p.m. Jan. 5 while the victim was walking to his vehicle.
