A female 22-year-old from Garden City, a cashier of a Seventh Street grocer, made false charges to a credit card, police report.

Garden City police responded to the following calls between March 4-16:

March 4: Police Officer Sommer was assigned traffic enforcement on Clinton Road when he stopped a male 26-year-old from Northport for driving 60 in a 30 mph zone. He was stopped and upon investigation he was arrested for criminal possession of marijuana (several bags).

March 8: Police report that between March 8-15 numerous reports of entry to unlocked vehicles overnight on East Drive, Fourth Street and Meadow Street. Proceeds included loose change, an I-Phone, tools and a GPS. Some cars were entered and no items removed.

March 10: Police Officer Sansone was dispatched to a dispute at a Seventh Street restaurant at around midnight. The dispute was resolved at the scene but one of the parties at the scene, a male 28-year-old from Hempstead, appeared very intoxicated. He was offered a taxi to take him home and told not to drive. He refused and stated he would walk home. A short time later, Police Officer Sansone observed him enter his car on Seventh Street and make a U-Turn with no signal and no headlights on. He was stopped and arrested for DWI (.16 percent Blood Alcohol Content) and the listed traffic violations.

March 11: Garden City detectives arrested a male 45-year-old at his Baldwin home for an incident on Sept. 1 2009 where he allegedly accessed a business account at an Old Country Road business and then made charges of over $13,000 against the account. He was charged with computer trespass and identity theft.

March 12: Garden City detectives arrested a female 22-year-old from Garden City, a cashier of a Seventh Street grocer, for making false charges to a credit card account on file with the store several times between November and March totaling over $$1,600. She was charged with grand larceny and falsifying business records.

March 13: Police report someone damaged a passenger side window to a vehicle on Franklin Court and removed a DVD player valued at $100.

March 13: Garden City detectives arrested a male 24-year-old from North Babylon for leaving the scene of a three-car auto accident earlier in the day on Franklin Avenue where one of the passengers of one of the other autos suffered a back injury.

March 13: Police Officer Hennessy arrested a male 44-year-old from Huntington for falling asleep at the wheel of his vehicle with the car running at the corner of Stewart Avenue and Hilton Avenue. He was charged with DWI (.13 percent Blood Alcohol Content).

March 14: Police Officer Oswald stopped a male 30-year-old from Mastic on Clinton Road at Locust Street for speeding (55 in a 30 mph zone). He was charged with DWI, felony aggravated unlicensed operation for having prior convictions for suspended driving, no passing zone, unsafe lane change, unlicensed and uninsured.

March 16: Police report someone removed a wallet from a shopper's pocketbook at Talbots. Proceeds include credit cards and $40 cash.
