Garden City Police Participating in Statewide Initiative
"Buckle Up New York" targeting non-compliance to occupant restraint laws, including child safety seat laws.
During March, the Garden City Police Department will participate in the New York State Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee’s statewide initiative Buckle Up New York.
Commissioner Ernest Cipullo states that during this initiative, highly visible patrols and checkpoints will be conducted targeting non-compliance to occupant restraint laws including child safety seat laws.
The goal of the Garden City Police Department’s Occupant Restraint Enforcement Program is to drastically reduce personal injuries and fatalities due to auto accidents, Cipullo said.
