GC Named 30th Safest 'City' in New York

Garden City is the 30th safest "city" in New York State, according to a recent report by SafeWise Security Systems.

The Salt Lake City-based home-security provider deemed GC 30th among 50 New York cities, praising its beautiful landscape, thriving business and school districts, and The Ethical Humanist Society, which for 60 years "has informed the community about ethical education for children and adults and spearheaded a number of ground-breaking programs."

The report cited FBI’s 2011 Crime in the U.S. Report as well as the company’s own research from the past two years. 

Topping the New York list is Floral Park, which is ranked the safest community. Also included are Port Washington (4), Glen Cove (7), Long Beach (10), Lynbrook (11), and Rockville Centre (29).
