Advises motorists of the consequences of driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Police Commissioner Ernest J. Cipullo announces that during the July 4th holiday weekend the Garden City Police Department will be participating in the statewide Stop DWI initiative.

"The police department will be implementing additional DWI patrols during this initiative in an effort to make our roads safer for motorists and pedestrians," says Commissioner Cipullo.

The goal of the department's DWI enforcement program is to inform motorists of all vehicles, including motorcycles and commercial vehicles, of the consequences of driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. These consequences include but are not limited to: death, serious injuries and property damage as well as jail time for the offender.
