Two Freeport teens accused of lifting an assortment of electronics, money from five separate rooms.

Two Freeport teens were arrested Wednesday in Garden City after a burglary spree at Adelphi University where both were attending an outside program on campus, Garden City detectives said.

High school students Troy Pollidore, 18, and Melvin Abreu, 17, entered four separate dorm rooms on Sept. 19 and 24 and removed two laptop computers, an iPod Touch, a wallet containing an unknown amount of money and a cell phone, according to Garden City and Nassau County Third Squad detectives.

When Adelphi public safety officers observed both defendants exiting another dorm room with a video game system and laptop computer in their possession on Wednesday, Garden City police quickly responded to the scene and took Pollidore and Abreu into custody.

Defendant Pollidore was found to be in possession of a stolen credit card, police said. Both defendants were charged with four counts of burglary, second degree. In addition Pollidore was charged with grand larceny, fourth degree, and criminal possession of stolen property, fourth degree.

They will be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Thursday.
