Special Police Officers Recognized for Service During Sandy

Special Police captain Dave Carpentier and Special Police officer Tom Imperatore each received a 2013 Law & Order Award during ceremonies recently hosted by William Bradford Turner American Legion Post #265.

Both officers performed heroically during Super Storm Sandy.

Special Police Captain Carpentier responded for duty during the storm even when there was a gas leak in front of his own residence as well as a live wire resting on his home. Special Police Officer Imperatore rendered assistance to residents and Garden City firefighters even after his vehicle was struck and damaged by a large fallen tree limb.
