Vehicle Entries of Mostly Unlocked Cars Continue

iPods, GPS systems and loose change were reported stolen from vehicles parked on Meadow Street, Pine Street, Willow Street, 1st Place, Surrey Lane, Pell Terrace, Tremont Street and Avalon Road.

Garden City police report several more vehicle entries of mostly unlocked cars, a drug bust in Parking Field 9E, larcenies at Lord & Taylor and Sears and more.

More Vehicle Entries of Mostly Unlocked Autos

Garden City police report that several more vehicle entries occurred last week. Most of the vehicles were unlocked. Some vehicles were just rummaged through while iPods, GPS systems and loose change were stolen from others on Meadow Street, Pine Street, Willow Street, 1st Place, Surrey Lane, Pell Terrace, Tremont Street and Avalon Road.

Drug Bust in Parking Field 9E

After an investigation with the Nassau County Police Department, Garden City detectives developed information of drug activity in Parking Field 9E. During this investigation, police determined that three individuals from Suffolk County, a female 20-year-old, a male 21-year-old and a male 23-year-old, were in possession of numerous glassine bags of alleged heroin on Jan. 31. The female subject was charged with possession of heroin and hypodermic needles, the male 23-year-old was charged with possession of heroin and the male 21-year-old was charged with possession of heroin with intent to sell.

Subject Flees From Lindbergh Street Residence

On Jan. 30, a homeowner from Lindbergh Street was in his basement at 8:20 p.m. when he heard noise upstairs. According to police, when he went upstairs to investigate, he observed a male subject, 6', dark skinned, wearing a black jacket, ski hat and scarf, running out the front door. Police continue to investigate but believe the subject may have entered through an unlocked rear door. No items are reported missing at this time.

Lord & Taylor Larceny

On Jan. 29, police headquarters received a report that two subjects had just fled from Lord & Taylor after allegedly stealing $825 worth of clothing. Responding officers located and arrested a male 22-year-old from Brooklyn and a male 23-year-old from Nanuet for larceny and possession of burglar tools (pliers and tin foil).

Sears Larceny

On Jan. 27, after a lengthy investigation, Garden City detectives arrested a male 29-year-old from Brooklyn for two counts of larceny at Sears dating back to June 2009. Police report that the subject used a forged driver's license from Georgia and forged credit cards to buy gift cards on two different occasions. According to police, one gift card totaled $1,300 and the other $1,000. Through the investigation, detectives obtained information that the subject was in court in Manhattan on unrelated charges. They responded and arrested him for two counts of larceny and six counts of possession of a forged instrument.

John Street Traffic Stop

On Jan. 27, Police Officer Sommer observed a male 36-year-old from Freeport traveling southbound on Franklin Ave make a left turn onto Stewart Avenue without signaling. Officer Sommer stopped the vehicle on John Street and arrested the subject after it was determined he had an outstanding arrest warrant from Nassau County for aggravated unlicensed operation.
