Did You Receive Village's Emergency Alert?

Officials tested the Garden City notification system July 16 and 17.

On July 16 and 17, village officials tested its Swiftreach emergency notification phone system.

The message informed residents of the village's efforts during the prolonged heat wave, advising that the senior center on Golf Club Lane as well as the Garden City Library were open for those seeking relief.

If you signed up to receive alerts but did not receive a message on either of those days, please contact village clerk Brian Ridgway at 465-4053. Those who'd like to sign up for alerts can do so here.

Swift 911 is a computerized telephone calling system used to notify residents and businesses of an emergency situation. When the system is activated at Village Hall, each resident and business within the Village of Garden City receives a telephone message and/or text with the emergency alert.

The system test was first suggested by trustee John DeMaro to ensure the system is actually working for those who are already signed up for the program.
