EPOA Seeks Library Trustee

The current trustee from the East, John Schultz, has resigned his position for personal reasons; there's approximately three years remaining on his five-year term.

The Eastern Property Owners’ Association (EPOA) is seeking a resident from the East to serve as a trustee of the Garden City Library.

The current trustee from the East, John Schultz, has resigned his position for personal reasons. This volunteer appointment would be for the approximately three years remaining on his five-year term.

The Board of Library Trustees is composed of five community members, one from each property owners’ association and one at-large member. Each library trustee serves a five-year term. Library trustees are responsible for adopting policies and securing funding for the library budget.

Anyone interested in serving as a trustee should be prepared to attend scheduled evening meetings throughout the year. A background in technology and finance would be useful, in addition to familiarity with village government.

Currently serving as library trustees are J. Randolph Colahan, chair; Gloria Weinrich, vice chair; Peter D’Antonio, PhD.; Lola Nouryan, Ph.D., and Mr. Schultz.

If you live in the East and are interested in representing the East on the library board, please send a cover letter and resume to Christine Mullaney, president, EPOA, at P.O. Box 7525, Garden City, NY 11530 or by email to christine.mullaney@gcepoa.org.
