Estates POA Nominating Committee Selects Brian Daughney

At Tuesday's Garden City Estates electors’ meeting, the Nominating Committee will place into nomination Brian Daughney of 59 Euston Road as the official Estates candidate for village trustee, to serve a two-year term on the village board of trustees.

Daughney has lived in the Estates section with his wife, Jacqueline Goode, for approximately 13 years and has two young children.

He is a corporate and securities lawyer and is a partner in the New York office of Becker-Poliakoff, LLP, a Florida-based firm with approximately 130 lawyers, according to an announcement on the Estates POA website.

Daughney's professional experience includes providing a variety of corporate clients with his services specializing in business transactions, capital markets financing and broker dealer regulation. He has 23 years of corporate and securities law experience representing entrepreneurs, startups, small cap and middle market companies through the various stages of their development, according to the announcement.

Daughney has served as trustee on behalf of the Estates POA since May 2010. He is a former president of the Estates POA and a former director of the POA; he also served on the Nominating Committee and the POA’s Bylaws Committee while he was POA director.

As a trustee, Daughney served on the Village Trustee Finance Committee, Traffic Commission and the Insurance Review sub-committee during the past 18 months. He is currently trustee liaison to the Cultural and Recreation Commission, the Architectural Design Review Board and the Board of Appeals and Planning Commission.

All residents of the Estates are encouraged to attend the electors’ meeting, which begins at 8 p.m. at Stratford School.
