Garden City Village Board Meeting Agenda: Aug. 16

See what trustees and department heads will be discussing at Thursday's meeting.

The Garden City village board will hold a regular meeting Thursday evening in the village hall board room to discuss a full agenda.

Proclamations will be presented to firefighters Mario Serrano and Michael Morgan and the board is expected to approve volunteer firefighter Abagael McCauley.

Trustees are also expected to grant or not grant final site plan approval to Calageros, which wants to expand its restaurant located at 919 Franklin Avenue next door to the vacant 923 Franklin Avenue, former home of Garden City Galleries, which closed its doors in January.

They will also grant or not grant final site plan approval to Tyku Sushi Bar & Lounge at 935 Franklin Avenue, the former TD PriceWaterhouse property, which has been vacant for nearly four years. The existing space is being converted from retail to restaurant use.

Trustees are also being asked to approve a license agreement with Garden City Country Club for a path used by the club along Edgemere Road.

Also on the agenda is a proposal to engage BFJ Planning for $15,000 to review and update village commercial parking regulations and additional contract work for the pool redevelopment project in excess of $40,000.

The meeting begins at 8 p.m. in the village hall boardroom. All residents are encouraged to attend.
