Agenda: Selling Vacant Land, Another Fire Truck Purchase

Find out what Garden City village trustees will be discussing at tonight's board meeting.

At the Dec. 19 village board meeting, Garden City trustees are expected to approve the sale of more than 39,000 square feet of surplus, vacant property north of Franklin Court and authorize Mayor John Watras to execute a deed to Franklin Court Mews Group, LLC.

Trustees will also likely award another bid to the Neville Fire Apparatus Corporation of New Hyde Park for the purchase of another piece of fire apparatus. The custom rescue truck costs $642,981, which includes a $30,000 trade-in value for a 1994 Salisbury Murray Heavy Rescue Truck. If approved, the purchase will be funded from the Hesse Estate.

The village invited 10 vendors to bid; Neville Fire Apparatus Corporation was the sole bidder.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. tonight in the village hall boardroom.
