Garden City High School graduate is majoring in American cultural studies at Bates College.
Garden City resident Alfred Russo, a 2011 graduate of Garden City High School, participated in the fall 2013 Bates College Junior Semester Abroad program.
Russo is majoring in American cultural studies at Bates and studied in Italy through the China Educational Tours program.
Bates College, located in Lewiston, Maine, offers access to study-abroad programs in more than 80 countries. About 60 percent of Bates students study abroad, according to college officials.
