The Garden City school district is holding a budget re-vote today on a revised 2010-2011 spending plan, $97,988,490, which carries a 2.91 percent increase from last year with an estimated 4.18 percent increase to taxes.
The first proposed budget, $98,275,256, called for a budget-to-budget increase of 3.21 percent and a projected tax levy increase of 4.52 percent (with STAR). Residents shot it down May 18 by 203 votes (1,662 to 1,459 votes).
