Online Sexual Harassment: Issues for Individuals and Institutions Tomas Gonzalez, College of Law, Syracuse University

Nassau Community College is proud to present Online Sexual Harassment: Issues for Individuals and Institutions, a talk by Tomas Gonzalez, College of Law, Syracuse University. The program will be presented on Thursday, March 29 at 10:00 a.m. in the College Center Building.

During his presentation, Gonzalez will attempt to answer these questions: How are people today misusing technology? What happens when harassment, offensive speech or criminal behavior is conducted online? Gonzalez will discuss what staff and students need to know in today's hyper-cyber world.

Gonzalez, a Syracuse University dean and former law professor, has expertise in academic support programs, leadership development and diversity education. He is a nationally recognized speaker in the area of legal issues concerning online communities. After earning a master's degree in Higher Education Administration/Counseling from Buffalo State College, Gonzalez obtained a J.D. from the Syracuse University College of Law.

Nassau Community College's presentation of Online Sexual Harassment: Issues for Individuals and Institutions – which is free, open to the public and accessible to the disabled – is part of its "No to Harassment, No to Assault!" program for Sexual Harassment Awareness Month.
