Garden City Earns Reward School Status from NYS

Garden City middle, high schools commended for academic achievement.

Two Garden City schools were among 67 across Nassau and Suffolk Counties classified as "reward schools," Newsday reported. They were commended for their academic achievement by New York State.

Garden City Middle School and Garden City High School are both invited to compete for up to $150,000 in grants.

“We are grateful for the State’s acknowledgement of our students’ academic successes, and for the opportunity to compete for federal Race To The Top (RTTT) funds. The Board of Education, district administration and staff remain steadfast in our mission to Garden City Public School students: Inspiring minds, Empower achievement, Building community," superintendent of schools Dr. Robert Feirsen said.
