GCHS AP Spanish Students All Score '5' on Exam

Students take their teacher, Marie Nuzzi, out for special lunch, present her with endowment check.

Every single one the students of Ms. Marie Nuzzi's AP Spanish class - all 2012 Garden City High School (GCHS) graduates - scored a perfect "5" on the AP Spanish exam. This is an achievement never before accomplished by an entire class at GCHS, and it is due to their hard work and the tireless dedication of their teacher.

Ms. Nuzzi taught all of these Spanish students for at least three years, some for all four years. Most of the students plan to further pursue the language in college, where they will all be taking advanced level Spanish as freshmen, thanks to their scores.

As a culmination of their high school Spanish experience, students took their beloved teacher out for a special lunch at Pollos Mario in June. At the luncheon, the students presented Ms. Nuzzi with a commemorative plaque which read "You taught us so much more than Spanish" (written in Spanish), and also presented her with an endowment check that will be used for her "Annual Spanish Haiku Contest" for future GCHS students.
