By the Numbers: Cost Per Pupil

Patch has compiled data on how much Hemsptead Town school districts are spending per student.

Data released by the State Education Department shows that most Long Island school districts are proposing budgets that fall within the 2 percent property tax cap.

Still the implementation of this tax cap has forced school districts to take a closer look at staff, programs and student spending.

With the average cost per pupil in Nassau County set at $25,098, Patch delves further to explore how much each school district in the Town of Hempstead is spending on its students.

This is a follow up to our recent school budget breakdowns story. That story included proposed 2012-13 budgets, tax levy increases, enrollment figures and cuts.
