Important Announcements from Garden City Public Schools

Mark your calendar for the following important school district events:

• On May 10 at 9:30 a.m., a district-wide school budget presentation breakfast will be held at Stewart.
• The Board of Education of Garden City Public Schools will hold a work session and budget public hearing May 10 at 8:15 p.m. in the high school.
• The 2011- 2012 Garden City Public Schools budget vote will be held May 17 from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. in the Garden City High School gym. Polls will open an hour earlier – 6 a.m.
• At 8:15 p.m., the board of education will hold a regular meeting at the high school.
• Also taking place on May 17, primary and elementary students can participate in the voting process by electronically selecting their favorite snack to be served on Field Day on the computers set up in the gymnasium.
• At 7:30 p.m., Jazz Night (vocal and instrumental) will be held in the high school library.

Other important dates in May:

• On Thursday, May 19, 7:30 p.m., the middle school Spring Concert III (orchestra, guitar and a.m. jazz) will take place at the middle school.
• On Wednesday, May 25, 7:30 p.m., the high school Spring Concert II (concert choir/orchestra, symphonic band) will take place at the high school.
• On Tuesday, May 31, 7 p.m., the high school Science Research Symposium will take place at the high school.

Remember, due to the use of snow days, schools will be in session on Friday, May 27.
