Residents Invited to Ribbon Cuttings at Middle, High Schools

Garden City residents are invited to two ribbon cutting ceremonies to celebrate the official completion of the new music addition at Garden City High School and the new gymnasium, fitness center and locker rooms at Garden City Middle School.

The high school ribbon cutting and time capsule closing will take place Monday, Jan. 7 starting at 3:30 p.m. in the lobby of the new music addition. Three performance groups, one in each of the custom-designed classrooms, will be performing short vocal, orchestral and band selections. Local officials and New York State Regent Roger Tilles will be in attendance to help celebrate this new addition to the high school’s educational program.

The middle school’s ribbon cutting and time capsule closing ceremony, rescheduled due to Superstorm Sandy, will take place starting at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9 in the rotunda lobby of the new gymnasium addition at Garden City Middle School. This new area is accessible from the parking area on the south side of the building. Middle school students will be demonstrating use of the new physical education spaces.

Refreshments will be served at both events.
