Annual Turkey Trot To Kick Off From St. Paul's

Thanksgiving Day tradition now in its 34th year.

The Turkey Trot Race Committee of Garden City, Inc., will conduct its 34th annual Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 24.

Register online at www.gcturkeytrot.com. Those interested can also register the day of the race between 8 and 9:15 a.m.

The race will form at St. Paul’s with the Challenger Division race beginning at 8:30 a.m., the 1.4-mile run beginning at 9:15 a.m. and the 5-mile run scheduled for 10 a.m.

The event will benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Muscular Dystrophy Association.

The route of the 5-mile race is as follows: Stewart Avenue in front of St. Paul’s, east to Cherry Valley Avenue continuing south on Rockaway Avenue, west onto First Street onto Cambridge Avenue, north on Whitehall Boulevard, continuing east onto South Avenue to Cherry Valley Avenue back to Stewart Avenue, then west onto Stewart Avenue past St. Paul’s and north on Hampton Road.

The final lap will continue south on Rockaway to the finish line at St. Paul’s.

Support the Garden City Turkey Trot food drive by bringing non-perishable food to the race Wednesday night and/or race day Thursday.

Note: Pick up your shirt and bib Wednesday night, Nov. 23, at the St. Paul's Field House between 6-9 p.m. La Bottega will be giving A take-out serving of farfalle in a fresh tomato sauce for $3 each at the registration and bib pick-up area.
