ABC Shows How Network Programming is Done!

ABC shows the rest that their fall shows are ones to be feared. The Alphabet network lays down the foundation for a great 2012-2013 TV season.

Out of all the networks I honestly think ABC has the most solid programming for the fall. The Alphabet network really did some revamping on its schedule an also had to say goodbye to a longtime fan favorite in Desperate Housewives which ment that Sunday would need a new face.

This is the first network thus far that I feel I could enjoy every new pilot they had to offer. ABC may have not added any new programming to Monday and Tuesday but they did revamp what they are airing on those nights. Adding a comedy block to Tuesday as well as moving a fan favorite 'Private Practice' to the 10pm slot.

As we move onto Wednesday, ABC has seen huge success with it's comedies that night with the help of the ratings comedy king, 'Modern Family' and other shows have been able to feed of that. The new show 'The Neighbors' hope to have the same luck as the Weaver family moves into a very strange and unique neighborhood only to find out they are from another planet, literally. I know what you are thinking, "Aliens? Really?" but I had the same feeling until watching the trailer and I have to say it looks really funny. I think it people give it the chance it deserves it could be a great addition to the Wednesday night comedy family.

Another great move by ABC is to give the Wednesday 10pm slot that belonged to 'Revenge' last year and had such great success to their new musical drama 'Nashville' staring the amazingly talented Connie Britton.

I actually thought this was the best trailer of all the new shows on any network seconded to 'The Revolution' (NBC) The show focuses on a country star who is at the height of her success only to have to face the struggles of the record company as well as the new up an coming younger stars. The show not only focuses around the music but around the people and families involved. I actually think Connie Britton will receive an Emmy award for this role. I'm saying that now before even watching a single episode that is how sure I'm on how great her acting is.

'Grey's Anatomy' has been a solid place setting for ABC on Thursday night and has helped 'Scandal' gain a season 2 pick up. The Alphabet hopes that airing the new show 'Last Resort' before Grey's it will garner the same results. "Last Resort' centers around a US Submarine crew that fails to go through with government orders and instead of attacking their target, become one.

Autumn Reeser stars in this thrilling action series that actually looked pretty decent considering its movie type trailer. The show, although limited in many ways does have room to grow story wise and I think if given the write road it could develop into a great series.

TGIF was a great ploy back in the 90's and ABC wants to test the waters and see if there are still people watching TV on Friday night. Reba McEntire will join Tim Allen on a comedy block on Friday Night's this fall on ABC.

'Malibu Country' stars Reba and Lily Tomlin as a mother/daughter duo living in Malibu after Reba's character gets a divorce and moves home to her mothers. The trailer reminds me of Reba's old show with just a new location. I think it will fit great with 'Last Man Standing'.

Sunday has a big hole to fix with the now departed 'Desperate Housewives' leaving so ABC decided to put 'Revenge' in it's place and I think that was a wise idea. They still want to be a contender on Sunday and why not move one of its more popular dramas to a time slot that was held by a ratings success. They also are adding a new show called '666 Park Avenue' to the night which stars Vanessa Williams, Terry O'Quinn and Robert Buckley in a supernatural dark drama that centers around a creepy hotel in New York City. The trailer actually was the weakest of all the shows on ABC but hopefully will gain some momentum with 'Revenge' as its lead in.

Overall the shows on ABC were much better then what NBC and FOX had to offer. They changed things that need to be changed and they branched out and picked up pilots that may or may not be successful but there will most likely be rewards in the risks they took. We shall find out this fall on ABC. Take a look at the trailers on ABC.com and let me know what you think. Next time I'll have CBS and The CW's new fall line ups!

Until then, Happy TV watching!
