Garden City Marks Veterans Day on 11/11/11

Ceremonies take place at new war memorial on Seventh Street.

The William Bradford Turner Post of the American Legion of Garden City conducted the village's annual Veterans Day ceremony Friday for the first time at the new war memorial on Seventh Street.

Commander Edward T. Brown led the ceremony.

A bell struck at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month to once again honor veterans. The moment marked the end of World War I.
