GCFD to Hold 9/11 Remembrance Service Tuesday

Special ceremony will pay tribute to those fallen, mark the eleventh anniversary of the terrorist attacks.

To commemorate the eleventh anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks, the Garden City Fire Department will hold a ceremony of remembrance Tuesday beginning at 6:30 p.m. on the Village Green (corner of Stewart and Hilton Avenues) to pay tribute to the fallen members of the Garden City community.

The names of the 23 residents who perished will be read during the ceremony. Their names are etched in the memorial monument stone on the Village Green:
