The Waldorf School of Garden City
516-742-3434; 516-742-3449
Considered a self-administered institution, Waldorf School's faculty and staff, Parent Association and board of trustees work together on behalf of students. They are responsible for the school's policies without outside interference.
Waldorf School of Garden City aspires to nurture and challenge its students, reflecting an understanding of the growing child.
The Collegium or College of Teachers determines the 'pedagogical direction' of the school and is made up of members of the faculty and staff.
A Parent Child Program (age 1-3), Nursery program (3 year olds) and Mixed Age Kindergarten (age 4-6) program are offered for the younger set. The school offers a slew of courses for the lower grade levels and high school students.
Athletic programs include baseball, soccer, basketball and softball and are offered to students in grades 7-12.
Two summer programs are also available: a day camp for boys and girls age 3-13 at the school's Garden City campus and a sleep away summer camp for boys and girls age 8-13 at Camp Glen Brook in Marlborough, NH.
