Saint Paul's Cluett Hall

Cluett Hall was built in 1898 as a gymnasium for Saint Paul's School. When Saint Paul's built a large field houseMore behind the building in 1962, Cluett Hall became a theatre for plays. 

Today, the Village of Garden City owns the building, which is used by the Recreation Department for various community activities.

The Lutheran Preschool aims to guide children in emotional, social and intellectual growth. The program, whichMore focuses on five aspects of a child's life, spiritual, mental, physical, emotional and social, offers experiences in blocks, arts and crafts, painting, hands-on-activities, cooking, puppets, Bible stories, music and creative movement.

Children in the 4-year-old Pre-Kindergarten program participate in a Kindergarten Readiness Program and a computer program in addition to the regular program.

A Transitions Class is also available, designed for children who will be 5 years old in September, October, November and/or whose parents feel are not ready for Kindergarten. This class is also open to 4 year olds who will be 5 years old in December or January. An Advanced Kindergarten Readiness program will be offered to this class.

The school has an enclosed outdoor play facility. During cold or inclement weather, the preschool uses the gymnasium, which offers climbing apparatus and slides.

A Mommy and Me Program  is also available, enabling children to socialize with peers while giving moms the opportunity to share and grow with other moms. This class is limited to 12 children per session and the child must be 2 years old by Dec. 1 of the school year. Moms and their 2-year-old children join together each Wednesday for one and a half hours of activities led by teachers. Session A is from 9am - 10:30am, Session B is from 11am - 12:30pm.
