Library Board Welcomes New Trustee, Lola Nouryan

Garden City resident will fill the remaining term of the office Trustee Brudie-Martis, who has resigned.

The Board of Library Trustees has accepted the resignation of Trustee Barbara Brudie-Martis and approved the appointment of Trustee Lola Nouryan.

At the July 8 meeting, the Library Board presented Barbara Brudie-Martis with a certificate and framed picture of the Garden City Library that included a plaque of appreciation for her years of service. The board noted that Trustee Brudie-Martis has been an exceptional board member who, as an attorney, was able to bring her knowledge and insight to library board proceedings.

Lola Nouryan, PhD has been appointed by the Central Property Owners' Association and approved by the Garden City Library Board of Trustees to fill the remaining term of the office of Barbara Brudie-Martis.

Dr. Nouryan has been an avid user of and an advocate for the Garden City Library and looks forward to her tenure on the board of trustees. A faculty member of the psychology department at Hofstra University, Dr. Nouryan, along with her husband Bob, has raised three children who attended Garden City schools. The library board looks forward to having Lola Nouryan serve as a trustee on the board.
