Library to Host 40th Anniversary Celebration

Local dignitaries, Sen. Kemp Hannon and Mayor John Watras, will speak at the ceremony at 2 p.m.

The Garden City Public Library will host a 40th anniversary celebration on Sunday, Oct. 20, in the Large Meeting Room on the lower level of the library.

Local dignitaries, Sen. Kemp Hannon and Mayor John Watras, will speak at the ceremony at 2 p.m. Library Board chairperson J. Randolph Colahan and vice chair Gloria Weinrich will speak about the history of the library and the changes that have occurred over the last 40 years in the current building.

Refreshments will be served.

Stop by the Library and share your memories as it celebrates 40 years in its current building. Fill out a card so that it can be on display at the celebration. All are welcome to attend the celebration and visit the library, which will be open from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sundays beginning Oct. 20.
