'Suspicious Briefcase' Spotted in Rear of Pay Half

Two people alerted police after seeing the briefcase unattended inside the store.

Garden City police and Nassau County's Bomb Squad responded to Pay Half on Franklin Avenue Wednesday evening after a "suspicious briefcase" was spotted in the rear of the store.

Kings manager Connie Deckel alerted Patch to the police activity.

Police commissioner Kenneth Jackson said two callers called in the suspicious briefcase after seeing it unattended in the rear of the store. The scene was safeguarded by Garden City police and cleared by the Bomb Squad.
