Ribbon Cutting at Hurricane Grill & Wings Tuesday

New restaurant to announce fundraising partnership with County Executive Ed Mangano.

A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at the new Hurricane Grill & Wings location in E. Garden City at 3 p.m. Tuesday.

The restaurant, along with the office of Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano,  who is expected to be in attendance, will announce a special fundraising partnership to assist those still affected by Sandy.

"Hurricane Grill & Wings and its staff still haven’t forgotten those residents not back in their homes," restaurant officials said in a press release. "In honor of those Long Islanders, Hurricane Grill & Wings will be hosting a fundraiser at both locations in Garden City and Syosset on July 29 from 6 p.m. to close, which will mark nine months since Sandy hit."

Former Green Bay Packers and NFL Superbowl champion Long Island native Gary “Big” Brown will host a wing eating contest at 6 p.m. Contestants will compete against Brown to help raise money for breast cancer and cystic fibrosis. Long Island's 98.3 WKJY and GameTruck, the household name in mobile video game theater entertainment, will be present from 6-8 p.m., according to the press release.

There are more than 55 Hurricane Grill & Wings locations in 11 states. The original opened in Fort Pierce, FL in 1995. In E. Garden City, Hurricane Grill & Wings is located at 630 Stewart Avenue (in the former location of Tin Alley Grill).
