Garden City's Kat Scala Teams Up With Gina Baez

Founder of "Fur All Dogkind" helps celebrate October Dog Adoption Month with local musician.

Garden City resident Kat Scala, founder of Fur All Dogkind, a company founded on the premise of helping dogs in distress, recently teamed up with local musician Gina Naomi Baez to help celebrate "October Dog Adoption Month."

Baez gained a following of Garden City fans during her regular performances at Friday Night promenades this summer on Seventh Street. She often performed with her dog, Tinkerbelle. Baez held a video release party at the Roosevelt Raceway Theatre in late September.

The event, sponsored by Petco, featured a live performance by Gina and Tinkerbelle and premiered the video for her new song, "Downtown."

Scala offered all attendees a "doggy goody bag" of organic dog treats. A guest speaker from "The Little Shelter" in Huntington also spoke to attendees. The shelter handed out informational packets about the benefits of adopting shelter dogs.

A percentage of Fur All Dogkind sales go to dog charities around the world. The company changes its featured charity each time its posted financial goal is met for that charity. Fur All Dogkind also encourages customers to send their personal stories and photos of favorite charities to info@furalldogkind.com or mail requests to P.O. box 7153 Garden City, NY 11530.
