Cops: Queens Man Charged in Pell Terrace Robbery

Homeowner discovered man leaving her house with a pillowcase full of jewelry in September, cops said.

A Queens man faces robbery charges after he was discovered burglarizing a Garden City home in September, according to Nassau County Police.

Cops said a 55-year-old woman was returning to her Pell Terrace home when police said she discovered an unknown car in her driveway and her front door wide open. As she approached her home, police said Robert E. Washington, 50, of St. Albans, was leaving the house with her jewelry in a pillow case.

Washington threatened to shoot the victim when she confronted him, though he reportedly showed no weapon, and fled in the unknown car with the jewelry, police reported.
