Fire Guts Hamilton Place Home Thursday
Garden City firefighters battled the fast-moving blaze which erupted around 4 p.m.

Fire gutted a Hamilton Place home around 4 p.m. Thursday.
Heavy black smoke poured from the upper floor and roof as neighbors and young children trick-or-treating for Halloween stood in amazement.
The residential street was closed to all traffic as village firefighters battled the blaze. Nassau County fire marshals were called to the scene to investigate.
There were workers at the home at the time of the fire.
