Man Approached, Held at Knife Point on Fourth Street

Victim was leaving a relative's house when the attempted robbery took place.

A man leaving a relative's house on Fourth Street was approached by two men, one with a knife who demanded money, Garden City police said.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:35 p.m. Jan. 5 while the victim was walking to his vehicle.

According to police, the victim said he held a bottle of wine up in a "menacing fashion" and told the men to "get lost."

Both men fled on foot westbound on Fourth Street. Both are described as possible Hispanics, 5'8" wearing dark clothing and hoods.

Garden City and Nassau detectives are investigating the incident.
