The Nassau County Police Department will be conducting a multi-agency emergency response exercise taking place at the Roosevelt Field Mall on Sunday night.
The exercise will address interagency response to emergency situations by the Nassau County Police Department, Nassau County Office of Emergency Management, Roosevelt Field Security, local fire departments and area hospitals. These events will test response protocols.
The Nassau County Police Department is advising all media outlets that the police response at the Roosevelt Field Mall is a drill. This will be a closed training exercise with no media access.
"We are requesting the...public not to be alarmed. This is an exercise to further enhance interagency coordination while providing improved safety for our communities," public information officers said in a statement.
