Legislator-Elect Laura Schaefer Thanks Voters
Adelphi alumna says she looks forward to all of the "challenges and opportunities" this position will present.
Nassau County Legislator-elect Laura Schaefer, an Adelphi University alumna who ran unopposed for the 14th district, submitted the following letter thanking voters:
I am writing to thank all of the voters of the "new" 14th district of Nassau County. In electing me as your County Legislator, you have bestowed upon me the honor of becoming an elected official and I am looking forward to all of the challenges and opportunities that this position will present.
As your Legislator, I am committed to representing the residents of the 14th district fairly and effectively to ensure a prosperous future for Nassau County.
Once again, I want to thank you for your support and I look forward to our future together.
Schaefer will serve the seat formerly occupied by Joseph V. Belesi, who declined to re-run after serving as legislator since 2009. The 14th legislative district includes Garden City.
