All-State Musicians Selected to Perform in Rochester
Garden City High School students selected as NYSSMA All-State musicians.
Alex Della Ratta and Leslie Wann were selected as NYSSMA All-State musicians to perform at the annual NYSSMA (New York State School Music Association) Conference in Rochester Dec. 5-8.
Michael Crapotta (voice), Justin Gong (jazz saxophone and regular saxophone) and Teresa Pietromonaco (violin) were selected as alternates for this year’s concerts.
“We are very proud of Alexander Della Ratta and Leslie Wann and our three alternates who also have a chance to make a performance ensemble and attend the conference,” Dr. Nina Prasso, district coordinator for music and the arts, said.
This is the first time junior Leslie Wann will be attending the NYSSMA conference. She has studied viola for eight years and also plays piano.
Last year, Alex Della Ratta was selected to the National Association for Music Educator’s All-Eastern Honors Band in April in Hartford, Conn. Alex was also selected as an All-State musician in 2012. This year she was selected for All-State Wind Ensemble.
