Police: Man Stabbed at Country Life Press Train Station

Male victim suffered a punctured lung and had his car stolen.

Garden City police officers responded to the County Life Press train station March 2 for a reported robbery. Upon arrival, officers found a 42-year-old Hispanic male who stated he picked up an unknown subject, described as a black male, in Hempstead and offered to give him a ride to the station.

The victim then stated, according to police, that upon arrival at the station the unknown suspect became "combative" and stabbed the victim several times with a knife.

The subject then stole the victim's 2010 Nissan Murano and drove away in unknown direction.

Police said the victim suffered a punctured lung and several superficial injuries. He was transported to Winthrop-University Hospital for treatment.

Garden City Police, with help from Nassau detectives, are continuing the investigation.

An alarm placed on the vehicle led to it being located in Uniondale by a Nassau County officer on March 4.
