Bites Nearby: Tin Alley Grill

You could stand on a corner and look around until a restaurant sign draws you in. But we’ve got a better idea. Each week, Garden City Patch picks a great restaurant either in town or nearby that is worth checking out. Here’s this week’s choice:

Tin Alley Grill: Family- and football-friendly, Tin Alley Grill is a popular place to bring the kids for lunch or dinner, or to watch a football game with friends in the expansive bar room, which is separate from the full-service restaurant. For football enthusiasts, the bar has NFL Ticket and a dozen televisions. When football is not in session, nightly entertainment, including live music and karaoke on Wednesdays, takes over.

Tin Alley’s menu runs the gamut from wings and sliders, to salads and full entrees. The Wednesday night special features a full rack of ribs with one side for $10. Tin Alley also delivers several signature dishes that have become favorites. These items are even highlighted on the menu and include Wings (“Little Bites”); Caribbean Coconut Shrimp (“Bigger Bites”); B.B.Q. Ranch Salad ($11.95); Buffalo Chicken Wrap ($8.95); and Sliced Steak Sandwich, topped with melted mozzarella and crispy onion strings for $11.95. For entrees, the favorite is the Marinated Skirt Steak, sent out with onion strings, garlic mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables for $19.95. The entrée menu includes other beef items as well as fish and chicken.

A message on the home page of the Tin Alley website assures customers that despite this tough economy, and its impact on families, the restaurant will continue to use the freshest ingredients, and will not lessen its portions nor raise prices. 630 Stewart Avenue, E.
