Chamber Fall Festival Street Fair Saturday

Festivities kick off at 9 a.m. on Seventh Street.

On Saturday, Oct. 26, Seventh Street will be buzzing with the excitement over the myriad activities planned for the Garden City Chamber of Commerce’s 34th annual Fall Festival Street Fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The primary contributing sponsor will be Doubleday Court Condominiums, which will sponsor the master of ceremonies to include music and entertainment by JGS Entertainment, back for the fifteenth year.

There will be plenty of activities for the kids. Included will be the return of the two trackless kiddy trains carrying youngsters 12 years of age and younger up and down Seventh Street sponsored by Coach Realty and Garden City Teachers’ Association. There will be the traditional inflatable “bouncy” sponsored by SMPL Technologies, and the ever-popular money cube sponsored by La Nonna Bella and the new restaurant, Revel.

Added to the excitement this year will be the NFL “Huddle Shuttle” Super Bowl exhibit located in the eastern section of Parking Field 7N – north side of Seventh Street. Youngsters will delight in the many activities provided by the “Huddle Shuttle” – both inside and out of the structure.

Returning for 2013 will be the band Fivestone, sponsored by Leo’s. The Garden City Department of Recreation and Parks will provide face painters. Additionally, the young dancers from Broadway Bound of Garden City, entertaining spectators each year at the Belmont Festival in June, will return to perform. There will be great food along the way, and much, much more including the “Fastest Shot Inflatable provided by NY Lizards Lacrosse to be located near the “Huddle Shuttle.”

For 2013, the chamber will once again welcome some 70 vendors offering a variety of craft and gift items. Add to the festivities Garden City High School’s Homecoming Day parade to step off on Seventh Street at 1 p.m. Seventh Street will be closed to traffic between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Contributing sponsors, in addition to Doubleday Court, primary sponsor, include Coach Realtors, Garden City Teachers' Association, SMPL Technologies, La Nonna Bella, Revel, Leo’s, Fairchild Sons Funeral Home, Securities Consultants, LLC, Jacqueline Goode and Brian Daughney and Dr. Denise Emma, orthodontist.

There will not be a rain date. For more information, call the chamber at 746-7724 or visit www.gardencitychamber.org.
